Support the Sarjeant Gallery and be the first to hear our news
Benefactors have played a major role in the creation and growth of the Sarjeant Gallery. The original Sarjeant Gallery at Pukenamu, Queen’s Park was built as a result of a significant bequest by landowner and farmer Henry Sarjeant, who died in Whanganui in 1912. The Sarjeant opened in 1919 and its collection, now one of the most significant in New Zealand, has been built with the support of individuals, trusts and companies who have gifted, endowed and donated monies for acquisitions.
Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery will reopen on Saturday 9 November 2024.
