Friends of the Sarjeant Gallery Autumn Day Out
Date: Wednesday 6 May 2026
Times: 8am – Meet at Whanganui War Memorial Centre
Cost: $75 per person (excl food and some of the optional tours)

Join us on a Take it Easy Tours bus. First stop is Waikanae for morning tea and a trip to Toi MAHARA Gallery who will be offering us a special tour of their Frances Hodgkins collection. At Pātaka Art + Museum in Porirua a talk and tour has been arranged for us. On to Lower Hutt and The Dowse Art Museum where we will have lunch at the fabulous Bell Bird Eatery and see their current exhibitions. In Te Horo we will visit the hand-built brick beehive kilns where renowned Czechoslovakian ceramicist Mirek Smíšek lived and created for 30 years.
