Singer, actress, academic, provocateur and writer Jennifer Reid has portrayed Barb in Shane Meadows’ critically acclaimed period drama “The Gallows Pole” and performed at Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show. She has appeared as an expert on Great Canal Journeys and The Hairy Bikers: Pubs that Built Britain. She has supported Pulp, John Cooper Clarke and latterly Eliza Carthy on an 18date sold out UK tour in 2024 which has continued into 2025. In April 2025 she toured New Zealand’s North Island solo, to great reception.

She sits on the executive committee of the Society for the Study of Labour History and is a member of Hard Art, a collective of activists, artists and leaders for social and political change.
